Yes, I do have the "5 spoke" wheels. Does this mean I wouldn't have to do any grinding on my wheels?? That would be great! I would really like to go with the 231mm's. I feel "bigger is better", and what can it hurt to go with the bigger brakes? We're heading to CO to go skiing tomorrow, but...

I'm wanting to do the Tundra brake upgrade on my 1999 4runner 4x4. I'm curious if the 231mm upgrade is that much better or worth the trouble to have to grind my rims? Are the 199mm's just as good? I have the "vibration" when braking now. I was going to redo the rear brakes at the same time...

Oh, ok. I didn't think it looked factory "Toyota". Plus, the visors hit it when folded down. I like the compass, temp in the mirror. :bigok: Tomorrow I gotta take apart the clock and see what's wrong with it. It works when you push in on it. :shrug:

If I wanted to upgrade my 1999 4runner 4x4 with the "Tundra brake upgrade", what are the part numbers for the parts? What would I tell Napa, or the auto parts store that I needed? What all will I need? Is there a lot of trimming that has to be done on my rims? I really want to do the 231mm...

The cold air would be for "more power"!! lol I really would like to get a TRD supercharger for it though. I guess I'm used to the power of our Expedition... I would really like to be able to get more hp out of it, and better fuel mileage (I know.. hard to do one without losing the other)...

Here are a couple of pics of the ride. Had to add some "Hello Kitty" seat covers... for my daughter. It definitely needs the Tundra brake upgrade (231mm). It needs a cold air intake, and a cat-back. I even found some leather seats for it for around $250 for the front/rear. It has a factory 3...

Thanks for the info. I was thinking I had "99 tall coils". And to me, for the money, it sounds like a body lift would fit my bill. No alignment... sounds great. I think I saw a bumper relocate bracket for cheap somewhere. Thanks again for the info.

So, if I have a 1999 4Runner "Highlander" edition, what coils will I need to get to give me a 2" lift? Do I just get coils that say "2inch of lift"?? Or would I need to get "3inch lift" coils?? I want to lift 2" higher than what I am now. Or would it be better to just do a 2" body lift, and...

Will a rear wind deflector off of a 2003+ 4runner fit on a 1999 4runner?? If so, is it a lot of modifications? I think they look better than the one I have on my 1999.

It's a 1999 4x4 "highlander" edition (I'm guessing anyways from all the stuff it has). The VIN only says "SR5", but I know it's at least a Sport. Everything is factory, except the bug deflector and the rain drip guards. It has 200,100 miles on it. It was "babied" since new (one owner)...

Has anyone seen these? I'm looking to crank some power out of the 4runner, and came across these. Does this look like it is legit? Would I get some serious HP out of it? I know my buddy has a Mustang with a twin turbo, and it "rocks"!:wow2: This looks to be cheaper than the TRD supercharger...
