maybe you need to disconnect the battery and reset the computer. Maybe you didn't push the truck hard during the break in period, and the computer thinks that you are a grandpa and adjust the truck accordingly. ;)

take the V8 if you like lexus-like quiet and smooth engine. If you like to hear your engine roar ALL the time, get the V6.

none of the 2003 models can change color to amber permanently anymore. The only one that can do that is the 7998 which came out in 2002, but it's non-amp unit, with a street price of $799 from an authorized B&M dealer.

Can someone recommend a good SQ hu that will match the interior dash amber color? Looks like a few of you have an Alpine 7897, how do the green buttons look with the amber dash? I am thinking about getting a 2002 alpine 7894 or 7998 + a 4 ch amp or maybe a nakamichi head unit? rich

haha no, I didn't blow them, the 2003 6x9 door speakers have the mounting and speaker all built into one unit. I plan on cut off the magnet/cone, and just mount a 6 3/4" woofer with the speaker frame. I think this will give a cleaner installation than making my own mounting board out of MDF.

I traded in my 97 for a 03 V8 sport edition, let me get right to the point: I don't miss my old truck AT ALL. The X-res is a must! I had the chance to get the SR5 with the matching color cladding for less or X-reas with the plastic cladding/bumpers, and of course limited was out of my price...

I think they are using matching color cladding from the factory now, but it would take 2 months to get over here, so if you can wait 2 more months or so, you should be able to get the sport edition with AP for around 400$, since the AP has fog lamps included, and you are paying extra for the...

I have a 03 v8 sport edition in gray color. I totally love it. The reason I got the sport edition is because of the x-reas, it is standard on the sport edition. I test drove both the SR5 and sport, I liked the sport better. If you can wait another 2 months or so, you can get the sport edition...
