I know this thread is pretty stale, but I figured I'd post an update after two and a half years. I just re-installed this system into it's third vehicle, and it's still working perfectly! The minor tweaks made based on my feedback are perfect, and this makes it too easy to wire up anything new...

No, they never responded after I sent them the photos. I got busy with other projects and never followed up. The replacement bolt I had here seems to be holding up fine. -Rob

I guess you're correct, it is gear oil leaking past the failed axle seal. They will leak out of the seal, and into a "cup" on the axle shaft. That cup is designed to channel the gear oil away from the brakes, out of a hole in the rear brake rotor. Skip to 5:30 on this video for an explanation...

Yeah, it's red sticky grease being channeled through the hole in the hub face. -Rob
