Thanks for the info I live in the sierra's so 1.8kw makes the most sense.

Can't seem to find a straight answer on why upgrading to 1.8kw denso starter vs 1.4 kw. Seems to me 1.8kw would be the way to go. Input from the community is appreciated in advance. Vehicle is a 1996 sr5 5vz 5 speed.

Just drove it home (about 10 miles) and it ran just like it always has. I'm going to reset the computer and drive it and see what happens.

Thanks everybody. I have other vehicles with ABS and this is the only one that does it on start up.

When turning on the key I can hear my ABS motor spin up (also happens when starting the vehicle). ABS system works and the dash light isn't on, I recently swap out the unit and still have the problem. Research I've done shows that many folks have had weird problems with their ABS system.

It happens about 3-5 seconds after I turn the ignition on. Cycle last about 2-3 seconds with a couple of clicks and then spinning/power up noise.

When I turn the key to the on position my ABS system goes through some type of cycling process. If I hold the brakes down when starting the (96) 4runner the ABS unit doesn't cycle. Folks smarter than I am say that there is a internal leak in the accumulator. Any input about similar issues with...
