I have my '98 4Runner SR5 I bought and had a very economic approach to things. I mostly use it for commuting the ways to and from work but I did do a few things to it over the years... on a budget. Originally it was a 2wd model with an auto -- I converted it to 4x4 and a 5-speed... but...

So... day before my cross country trip I had my SRS warning light come on in my '98 SR5.... I read up in the manual I have that it simply states "go to dealership ASAP" --- I would rather diagnose what's wrong with it. I realize there are sensors in the SRS system present in the airbags...

I usually let me car warm up between starting it and then letting the clutch out... about 2-3 seconds? :guitar3:

Not sure how I feel about the paint... not my thing - but I really like what he did to the door panel inserts - the black isn't as obnoxious as I would have thought.

Yep - should work just fine if it's wired as a standalone. I am researching swapping a multimode into my '98 currently

Was fighting the transmission when I did the 5 speed swap... had done the entire swap in one day, in a garage, when it was -3* I wouldnt get the bellhousing to seat against the block and fought and fought until I said F*** It... in the process I got a little heated and ended up...

So - anyone happen to have the wiring diagram for a 2000 4Runner with multimode transfer case? Looking for the wiring specifically for the transfer case and the 4x4 ECU. Going to be swapping one in to my 98 :rockon:

I am literally running the same set up - 5 speed, 4.10s, and 265/70/16s My truck runs just fine - very little lugging unless I am say in 3rd gear at 1000rpm and trying to accelerate. I did the 5 speed swap and decided to keep the 4.10s because they worked so well with the set up - I averages...

I did a small lift on my 4runner about 3 years ago when I added the 265s and '99 rear springs.... Same time I did the 4x4 and 5-speed swap... I STILL haven't gotten it aligned. I've driven it across country and another 35,000mi since then haha

Well I figure that my 4runner is paid for, I've put a lot of effort into it doing the 4x4 and 5-speed swap, and it's a rust free reliable vehicle that I have driven across country 3 times in. I'm just comfortable with it and honestly, I am already storing 7 other vehicles and I don't want to...

So - long story short is I will be relocating to the UK in the near future from CA and have been reading up on their motor vehicle lighting requirements - Side repeater (blinker) is required - so I've been looking at adding Hilux/Surf side markers to my 98 SR5 - I was curious if anyone had...

~9 months while I was deployed.... I disconnected the battery and left it on the base parking lot - come back, hooked up the battery, fired right up... then used it to jump 3 other guys' cars.

OK - yet no one has even offered that haha
