Thinking I'm going to go with a v8 with 170k. Still a little iffy on buying something with that many miles, but it has good service records, so.... What would be the most likely cause of a catastrophic failure at a higher mileage? Like is there something that is likely to happen eventually...

Thanks! That's more or less what I was thinking. I guess the only thing that is worrying me is if it is further progressed than you can tell from the photo.

Has anyone encountered this before? I'm in the process of finding a 4th gen, and one I found seems to be a good candidate except for some rust in the right rear wheel arch. All I have to go on is the picture I attached. Any thoughts on if this is something I could grind down myself and rattle...
