    code 52 under load.

Like I said before. Just change the KS and pigtail. Start with what is almost always the problem then go from there. I JUST went through this EXACT problem and wasted a lot of time and money trying to fix it different ways because I didn't want to take my engine apart. As soon as I changed the...

    code 52 under load.

To do the VCGs you have to remove the plenum. There is about 500 vaccum hoses that you have to take off. Check and re-check that you put them back correctly/ none are cracked. Also the Knock Sensor pigtail attaches to the Enigine harness right under the throttle body. Inspect that and see if any...

    code 52 under load.

See my above post, save yourself the trouble and change the KS and KS pigtail. 9 out of 10 code 52 problems stems from the harness but believe me, you DON'T want to do this job twice. Spend the extra cash and buy a new Toyota KS as well. If this doesn't fix it, then move on to ECU, Chassis...

    code 52 under load.

My truck did the same thing. I would rev and rev in park with co CEL but as soon as I started driving it would pop. I educated myself like crazy trying to fix the problem. Relocated KS with new harness and knock off KS, Changed ECU ran direct wire from KS to ECU triple double checked timing...

    ECU Wire

I relocated it as I just don't have the time to tear it down to get to the OG one and change it. I relocated it and it was fine for almost 100 miles, then all this started. I followed a few people that have had theirs relocated for 1,000s of miles with no CEL.

    ECU Wire

Sorry, it's a 1992 3vze auto. I did a new "harness" for it this evening. I had the new toyota pigtail and cut the connector to the KS off and soldered a coax center wire to it and grounded the shielding to the plenum and took the other side to the Black KNK sensor wire on the center ECU...

    ECU Wire

Ok, I have been battling this Code 52 garbage for awhile and I believe I narrowed it down. I have: -Relocated New Knock Sensor -New Knock Sensor wire -New ECU -Corrected Timing problem Still have code 52... I am now suspecting that the shielded wire from KS harness-ECU has an issue. What is the...

    92 3.0 knock sensor change

Yes, it's a common thing and yes I did some research on this. :nerd: My 92 3.0 has the ole' code 52. The thing is (at least to me) the truck seems to be running fine. Has power etc etc. The CEL for code 52 comes on only when I rev it above 3k or so. Will probably change the wire anyway. Should I...

    92 3.0 distributor worn out

Only 144k. I thought it was weird to, but the scratching underneath the cap and the looseness of the shaft doesn't lie :(

    92 3.0 distributor worn out

Update: Looked around for hours and hours trying to find a "rebuild kit" or at least the bushings. No dice. Bought a rebuilt Dizzy off of ebay.

    92 3.0 distributor worn out

Hey guys, started up the ole 4runner and after about 5 mins of running I heard a "scratching" sound from the engine bay. Opened the hood and heard the noise coming from the distributor. Checked under the cap and I could see marks on the new cap. I tugged on the rotor back and forth and it looks...

    Fusible Link Wire

Thanks for all the replies. Now that you mention it the theory that the po just extended the wire when he got the wrong battery makes sense. I will see what the underside of the hood looks like to make sure its safe. Also I know about the hold down. This truck hasn't seen the road yet I am just...

    Fusible Link Wire

Maybe I am just calling it by the wrong name? This wire on my positive terminal goes over to the power distribution block and I think to the fusible link? Looking for a replacement for this wire as the previous repair was done poorly

    Fusible Link Wire

Hey guys. PO must have burnt the fusible link up and slapped in some regular wire. Truck runs fine but the wire was a real poor job when they fixed it. Looking for where to pick up a new fusible link wire. Checked ebay and such but couldn't find anything.

Code 52 and Code 41 together

Thank you for the detailed response. Yes I looked into the codes and their meaning. I did test the tps before and one of the tests was out of limits. I didnt think that could be the cause of both but maybe it is? I have a junkyard tps I can test and see what we get.
