Has anyone hooked up a trailer brake controller to their 3rd gen runner. Wanted to know how hard or easy it is.

Does anyone know why Toyota does not recomend using a weight distribution hitch? I have a '96 v6 sr5 and I just bought a hybrid trailer to tow. The dealer says I need the WDH. The trailer only weighs 2500lbs unloaded but is 21ft. My T4R tow capacity is 5000lbs.

Anyone ever install a braker controller for a travel trailer? How hard is it? I also need to wire up my runner for a 6 prong electrical connection. Thanks for any help.

I am in the market for a travel trailer. But have some concerns on towing. I have a 1996 V6 4x4 with tow package. Does anyone else tow a travel trailer with this year and model. I'm looking at a 24ft trailer that weighs 4100lbs UVW. Thanks
