Observations after removing the hydrocarbon filter

Don't bother drilling, just try to "pull" it out with a putty knife. A couple of the plastic nipples will shear when you try to take it out. I did this ages ago and have been getting 20-21 MPG from the trip computer when I commute in So Cal Traffic (slow & go). That translates to 18-19 MPG...

I'm getting very worried about the 5th gen

In general, Flexfuel doesn't equate to higher fuel mileage. The energy density of methanes and other additives used un "biofuels" is almost always lower than gasoline. Interestingly, however, is that the Octane of these additives is high. This means that some of the refining processes can be...

If gas gets to $5.00 a gallon

The only way Americans will consider using less oil is them to be hit in the pocket book. China and India have increased their share of world oil consumption, while the overall consumption of oil continues to increase exponentialy. It is well known that OPEC countries are only allowed to...

    question for v8 owners

One thing I've noticed is that the a/c tends to cycle on no mater what temperatures are set and ambient. I heard it cycle on up in the mountains when the outside temp was 45 degrees for Christ's sake. I keep the a/c light off and immediately saw a 1-2 mpg increase both on and off the freeway...

    ?'s regarding coilovers

To adjust the coilovers, you need to remove weight from the wheel. Jack it up so thr tire is airborne. That will help some, but in general, they can be a pain in the ass to move when not new.

    new hho installed

Yeah, that;s about the size of it... It all comes down to irreversibilities and the "No free lunch" rule... Theory is great, and is probably used in the white paper describing this, but I've not been able to find it. Remember, the most efficient power plants in the world, using closed water...

    new hho installed

If hydrogen is being generated, molecules are being split apart (perhaps through electrolosis of water). To split molecules energy is needed. My guess is this may work in theory, but in practice the energy needed to split moleculed is greater than the energy delivered to the engine. Sometimes...

If gas gets to $5.00 a gallon

Blame Bush for borrowing trillions of dollars from China to finance his war and driving the value of the dollar into the toilet.

    money spent on fuel brag...

I was at the pump yesterday. I had driven till the gas light came on... I was pleasantly surprised when the pump stopped at $75.00. Untill I realized they must just query the card for that amount on authorization. I put another six bucks in for a total of $81.46 Regular was $3.89, premium...
