The runner is costing me about $55-$60 to fill, and my truck is around $95-$110 to fill. Really sucks. I still use my truck to cummute to work though........It's getting about 5 mpg better than the 4-runner. That and people are less prone to cutting me off in my truck during morning rush hour. Funny story, I was cut off by a yuppie in a lexus the other day on the way home. So at the next stop in traffic I ended up right along side him. It was a nice day and our windows were down, so I put the beast in nuetral, cranked up the tuner, and belched a big old cloud of black smoke out of my tailpipe. When he went by me again, I could actually see diesel soot on the side of his white car! I loved it!

I drive heavy trucks for a living, including tractor-trailers and large straight trucks. I think I have everyone beat in the fuel bragging department.

Needless to say, my boss is getting his panties in a bunch these days. I am not an owner-operator, but I really feel for those chaps who have to buy their own fuel. (I was one several years ago, but diesel fuel was about $1.25 a gallon back then!)
Hate to say it, but I doubt very much that prices have peaked.

:iagree: it'll probably go up even more as summer driving season is around the corner. It's $4.09 for regular here, $4.33 for premium. Some analysts says market correction will be due (much like the housing market) and we'll see relief at the end of the year--we'll see about that. I don't think it'll happen since the US dollar is so weak and demand internationally has gone up with emerging nations.

I agree that fuel prices have most likely not peaked (for this year) yet.
Yesterday, I told a co-worker if she needed gas for her Sienna she should get it that evening.
She asked me why and I told her that I was going out of town and whenever I do that with my 4Runner gas prices always seem to go up that Friday morning.
On my way to work this morning, sure enough, all grades of fuel went up 6 cents overnight. ($3.459/$3.559/$3.759 and $4.459 for Diesel)
Kinda wish my daily driver (some say beater) was available for the trip. Getting 35+ mpg highway in that is better than my 4Runner's 19-21 mpg.
Oh well, at least the ride will be more comfortable and more quiet in the 4Runner. Time to set the cruise control and turn up the tunes.
It is about time the 4Runner gets some (non-towing) highway miles.

I was at the pump yesterday. I had driven till the gas light came on... I was pleasantly surprised when the pump stopped at $75.00.
Untill I realized they must just query the card for that amount on authorization.
I put another six bucks in for a total of $81.46
Regular was $3.89, premium $4.09
I've got a 2006 Yamaha FZ1 that's comming out more and more often these days...
