Well, as I stated in my previous post, Costaletech.com contacted me via email to notify me that there is the issue with the screen returning to map mode intermittently. I can confirm that this does happen. oddly enough, it doesn't happen nearly as much when the nav unit is in "override" mode...

Well as luck would have it, I recieved an email from Coastaletech last night informing me that the product may be defective: "Hello :) Thank you for your recent purchase of our Lockpick 2 for your car. It has come to our attention that certain models of navigation systems react differently...

I also connected an ipod A/V cable and ran the cable into the center holder thingy for easy access.

Here's the finished product. I ended up mounting the dvd player in the glove box after all. I then ran the remote sensor into the vent to the left of the nav.

It works!!! or as little john would say: WHHHHHAAT!!! ............... YYYYEEEAAAHHHAA!!!

Doh! I guess they just updated their site: "The new TOYOTA/LEXUS LOCKPICKS will begin shipping WEDNESDAY AUGUST 9th."

Yeah, I've actually been able to get a hold of a real person from time to time. They almost never reply to emails or answer the phone. I really want the module, but I don't like giving them $230, and getting nothing in return. A little customer server on their end would have gone a long way...

Interesting. Had I read those reviews of coastaletech, I would not have ordered. I'll give them a few more days, then get a refund if it still has not shipped.
