I've just stopped using them. Probably about 2000 miles ago. I'll check and report if the vibration and friction has caused any issues (I kinda' doubt it though). There's a good bit of compression when the hood is closed. I just got really tired of chasing them when they fell or replacing them.

[Two days ago] Replaced my rear hatch struts with new ones from AutoZone. Roughly $40 shipped to the house. Not the biggest fan of the metal clips on the new ones. My left strut failed, and that was enough to prevent the hatch from staying up. I noticed the hatch would sag from time to time...

Replaced my key fob batteries. One was acting sketchy, and the other was dead. Glad I was able to take care of it before being stranded.

I think if you have 3rd row seating, then anyone sitting back there might appreciate the heatshield being reinstalled. Otherwise, I personally wouldn't worry about it.

Keep your '13. So little has changed with the trucks over the years. If you want that newer front end, you can swap it to yours (but that's up to your skills and budgets). I've considered "upgrading" myself, but all I really want is that heated steering wheel and a better infotainment unit...

[Yesterday] Dropped the 4Runner off at a local shop (that's reputable) for state(PA) inspection. Around 10am the mechanic calls me, tells me I need a new axle seal (not totally surprised, been keeping an eye on it with my regular mechanic friend), said it needs replaced, otherwise it fails the...

Mine lasted about 171k miles before it started to leak/weap. I replaced everything(at around 177k miles) with a lightly used set of basic SR5 suspension. Not as great as the XREAS, but functional.
