Did you ever figure out if this noise was normal or not? I just purchased a 2016 4runner a week ago and noticed a rapid bubbling/boiling sound coming from the gas tank.

The sliders are good condition, previous owner didn't land on any rocks with them (thankfully). I don't have any welding experience, so I think I am just going to have someone weld in 2 more legs, but this time add plates and gussets to the new legs. Hopefully that will add enough support.
