    How smooth is your 4Runner?

No vibration I replaced my OEM tires at 68K. My new tires installed at a tire shop do not vibrate at any speed. I have had them up to mid-eighties with no problems. They are a touring tire warranted to 70K.

Looking for the perfect 265/70R17 tire - head is spinning

Touring tires I replaced my OEM Michelins at 68K. Could have stretched it a bit more, but tire s were on sale, and set to go up. I chose Multi-Miles, a Yokahama tire made in Salem Virginia. They are warranted for 70K, and Tireman of NW Ohio adds their own signature warranty with a few extra...

Daughters reaction to new (new to her) 4Runner

Great dad! great Vehicle! great teaching aid! It is nice that you did that with kudos for involving her in the investment! May I suggest you put together a "care" package for it: Wax, wash liquid, vinyl cleaner/protectant, wash mitt, brushes, etc.. in a bucket. Then teach her how to take...

    Touring replacement tire thoughts?

I have a 2006 T4R 2WD SR5 V6 with about 66k on it. I have the original Michelin 17" option tires. I don't go off road, and want a quiet, comfortable touring tire. The Michelins are great, but expensive. Many of my friends claim the Michelins deliver 1-2 mpg over other brands. Considering...

Spark Plug Replacement for V6-Stealership or DIY?

Went with long-life plugs I just had my V6 plugs changes at my 36k oil change. My repair shop replaced the short-life plugs with compatible 100k Autolites. I have put a couple of thousand miles since, and the vehicle runs great. mileage is bak up, also. I think the OEM plugs at 7-10 bucks...

POLL: Who Does Your Preventative Maintenance?

Local repair shop I use a local shop, that does a great job; at a fraction of what dealers charge. They even informed me of the 30K spark plug change. I just had assumed they were 100k plugs. When I have an oil change, they check all the things one would and should expect: hoses, belts...

Advice-Drop the Pan or Dealer Flush?

Flush, for sure! I bought a 1992 Lexus ES300 w/75k miles in 2005. In 2006, noting the transmission shifted into overdrive only after warming up (in FL), I took it to the only AAA certified repair shop in the area, and they did the flush for $149. It is a several step process, that is...

What'd you pay for your 4th gen T4R?

I got a great bargain! I bought my 2006 SR5 V6 2WD in January 2007. It was a leftover with no leather or moonroof and only 31 dealer miles. The sticker was almost 29K, but I got it for 24K+. I don't care for moonroofs, and I am ambivalent to leather. I like this vehicle immensely. The only...

What did you drive before your 4Runner

My vehicle prior to 4Runner I bought a 2001 Toyota Avalon XL new. Non-leather, non-moonroof. I don't need either. Great car. Very quick, fast and smooth. Great riding. I wish I could have afforded to keep it. Needed the 4Runner to tow my triple log pontoon. No regrets with the 4R.:surfer:

New Member Looking to buy 07+ 4runner , should i pick the v6 or the v8

I like the V6 I have 35k on my '06 T4R, and I find it a great engine. I avg 22.7 mpg at avg of 40mph according to the computer. i have done as well as 25mpg on highway driving staying under 75 mph. I pull 3700 pound pontoon, and it does that well. I have not driven the V8, so I cannot compare.

    New guy NW Ohio

Own an '06 SR5. 35k miles. One of the best vehicles I have owned so far. Pretty standard. No customs, a few options. Nothing I would currently add. Sometimes would like to add a better stereo and speakers. I have consulted Crurchfield on this. They know what they are doing, as I have...
