Can anyone tell me if the fuel tank has to be taken out to replace my fuel pump on a 1996 SR5 4 runner??? replaced the fuel filter which was completely clogged ran great for about 6 miles... figuring need to replace fuel pump.

oh yeah and i have only had this truck about 6 months so im not sure when a tune up was done last. think that i why it was my first thought. My sister just went through pretty much all the same symptoms and it turned out to be the fuel pump that passes a pressure test and went out on her.
