my 96 4R v6 SR5 is running sluggish, no power, no codes

my 96 4R v6 SR5 is running sluggish, no power at times when taking off from stop or trying to get up speed on the on ramps.. takes forever to get to speed. this is not all the time it comes and it goes. I have had it looked at at 3 places. I took it in because i was thinking plugs/wires or even fuel filter. the drove it and said it was the tranny. Then tranny guys says no, and the only codes he found were in the history for misfire on cylinders 1 and 4. and that it was the coil on top of the plugs. I went back to have that fixed and was informed it is not that coil/plugs/wires are fine. I had the 3 place take a look and and check the fuel system pressure thinking maybe fuel pump but he says pressure is normal the timming is good and so is exaust pressure. Help please i don't know what to do next with no codes or warning lights.

Try to manually shift the tranny ( I assume its an auto?). My 94 shift solenoids went bad and it wouldn't show any codes but the brake light would come on periodically. But like you said it was sluggish, no power, not responsive. I could get to 55 mph but it took forever. The RPMs never got over 23300 or so either.

ok so i did do that and it seemed to shift fine but still sluggish, i did have it checked at a trans shop. he says its not my tranny. My sister keeps saying she thinks its the fuel pump because when hers went out it was doing same type of things and hers passed the fuel pressure test but was still bad, also wondering if anyone has had that happen to them

They don't call em 3.slow for nuthin ya know. When I first got my 94 I thought something was bad wrong with it too. Changed the fuel filter and that helped it some, but these 3.0 motors are no speed freaks. With the new filter it would eventually get to 75 mph, barely....now I'm running 100% straight gas in it (non ethenol) and it runs like I stuffed a 350 chevy motor in it.
