I have a 99 4runner and a 2019 Tundra, i used to have a 2004 sequoia... I tow a tow toy hauler with d/w @ 3k lbs, adding just camping gear (no toys yet) I'd safely say it's 4k lbs. I drove to Idaho (from AZ) in the sequoia + trailer and it's was, well, lacking, I even bought a SC for the 4.7...

well it's been a while... I'm still rolling the 1999 Limited 4Runner, it has 191k miles... so little... but I did purchase a 2019 SR5 Tundra, this tows our 3k dry weight trailer... tandem axle w/elec brakes. it's 20ft long and tundra tows this at 9.5-11.5 mpg (2004 sequoia got 6.5-8.5mpg)...
