Getting a little off track here. Please note in my original, I am talking about regular, everyday, freeway overpasses....... Not mountains. Thanks. No one wants to shift at every freeway overpass... Nor do we want it to auto downshift at each one of the hundreds of overpasses......

Thanks for the comment. But, still wondering, does the end of the CVC joint farther away from the gear box, move back and forth, front to rear of the truck, as much as 1/8 inch???

The front 4WD CVC joints wobble slightly and I am wondering how much is ok? Only 40k mi on the 08. To describe how much wobble: the outer end of the joint, away from trans, moves sideways, 90 deg to the axle, about 1/8 inch max forward to rear. Is this normal for 4WD CVC's?? Thanks....

If it's 12V and it fits it should work just fine!! I would have absolutely no problem buying a car battery at WM for normal service. Not necessary to buy expensive batteries. Never let a battery stay in a run down state very long!! Usually the bigger the better. Get the biggest that will fit...

Plastic strip broke loose on my 08 The plastic strip on the right side tracking mechanism was breaking loose, dragging, made lots of noise, binding some, so I removed it. Works fine and quite since I removed it. Will go to Toyota some day to get them to put a new one in?????

WOW...... No response??? Does anyone know how to tweek the trans linkage on this car to accomplish this. I have done this many times on older cars but not sure about this one, with all the fly-by-wire now days. Maybe someone can anyone refer me to someone that might be able to help?

My trans down shifts almost every time I go over a freeway overpass. There's lots of them so this is a real nuisance. Extra wear on the trans plus extra gas. This started of course after changing to bigger tires. I would like to tweak something only slightly to stop this. Does anyone know how...
