yeah, that's what I'm thinking to. Get the toytec coilovers and then get SS adjustable panhard, brake line, etc anyone know if the toytec boss kit is better than the ultimate?

Ok sounds good, I'll make a decision in the next couple days. One more thing though, what else should I replace while I'm at it? Are bushing kits available? poly etc? I hear you on the steering rack bushings. I'll be looking at rockauto probably.

my registration slip has a T instead of a 1 in that spot so according to this How To Decode Your Toyota's VIN Number - Toyota Parts Blog it's a 1996. they must have written it down wrong at the shop :P

I'm at a point where my T4R is in desperate need of complete suspension overhaul. alignment shop told me they were unable to do the alignment because the outer tie rods and rear lateral rod bushings were completely toast. They also recommended changing both front and rear shocks and coils...

So I bought what I thought was a 96 4run with the 3.4 and 5spd but the alignment shop said the vin came back as a 01. VIN: JT3HN86R710050217 if this is true, somewhere on here i read they stopped making them 5spd after 00. Anywho, alignment shop reported a bunch of issues that i suspected...

ahh ok, seems I'm missing the switch entirely then, there's a hole where the switch near the ebrake used to be. thanks all. I'll try finding a switch at the wreckers and see if that solves things

Hi all, had to sign up to ask this. I just bought my second 4runner. A 96 3.4L, 5spd, sr5. It has power everything, cruise, tilt, AC but I was under the impression that all 3rd gens have a power rear window. Looking at my rear window it looks like it should retract but I have no switch up front...
