What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Installed new power steering pump, opened and cleaned the PS fluid reservoir to find the internal screen was torn and possibly explains why pumps were not lasting long. I installed an in-line filter, but now worry how much the rack may have been impacted by the lack of filtration. Replaced PS...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Yesterday. Installed the new swaybar links in the ‘97. Feels a bit tighter in the corners again. Ordered a new power steering pump. (Next weekend’s project: clean out the reservoir and install the new pump, in-line filter and belts.)

    My '97 "To-do" list.

Thanks for the replies. Sway bar links are the next thing as I have them in hand. Lower Ball joints were done about 7 years ago along with the steering rack and tie rod ends. Exhaust manifold was changed out somewhere around 2005ish but is probably another cast one. I’m not seeing any oil...

Awthorn. I like the look of your rig too. I have a '97, 2.7 in the same body color and was curios what it might look like if I blacked out the wheels, grill, and, bumper. Now I have a good idea. :eyebrows:

    My lift is finally installed

That does look good. I've never done a lift on a truck, so I have newb questions. Did you have to do any other steering mods, or drive train mods for this level of lift? I'd like to lift my '97 right about in the range that you just achieved.

Hi all. Checking in from Washington State. I've been in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for 20 years. The last 12 years have revolved around submarines, but I am now on shore duty. I have inherited my wife's '97 4Runner. It was her turn for an upgrade and we got her a 2008 Tacoma. The...
