Just had a look at a similar one, the metal clips are above the bottom, so the distance to the hole would not be correct even if I was able to glue them to the bottom.

Usually those metal clips are on top of plastic taps. Those plastic tabs are broken off (and yes, the metal clips stayed inside the vehicle...). Are you saying just glueing the metal clips to the bottom of the plastic is sufficient even with the plastic tabs gone?

Ok, the weird thing now is that the error code does not come up again, but the VSC and trac lights are still on. At least I can't read any errors with my code reader CR MAX. Maybe I need some more specific Toyota reader....
