    Door Lock Issue

Hi Sid, it's not the child safety lock. I had tried this initially just to see if I could secure it before trying to install the new actuator. This feature only prevents the door from opening from the inside, not the outside. Now, I can't open it from the outside. Not sure how I can even...

    Door Lock Issue

Hello Brillo, I'm in Southwest Florida so we won't get cooler weather until after Thanksgiving! It''s a cheap part, I only paid like $15 for it. Definitely not an OEM part but it looks identical. It does get the button to go up and down and as noted, before, we couldn't get the door to lock...

    Door Lock Issue

Ok so here is an update on this joyous and fun project. I actually managed to remove the old actuator, take off the parts to re-use, and installed the new actuator! I reconnected the 3 rods and now the door is locked. It will not unlock. So the reverse of the problem we had to start with. My...

    Door Lock Issue

Thanks Brillo...I ordered one of these Amazon.com. I pray the part works, fixes the problem, and isn't too difficult to install. I have never replaced one of these before.

    Door Lock Issue

Hello Brillo, Thanks for the reply. How do I see if a rod fell off or not in place? With the door panel removed, there is very limited access to get behind the actual metal of the door. We do have child safety locks - but that will only lock the door from the inside. You can still open it with...

    Door Lock Issue

2001 4Runner Limited. Power locks. Ok, so on the rear driver's side door, the button goes up and down, however, the door does not lock. The other 3 doors lock, so the problem is only on this door. I don't think it's necessarily the actuator, because as mentioned, the button goes up and down...

    Floor mat hook question

So I'm slowly putting my 2001 back together after an accident. I found the driver's side floor mat hook. But when I went to reinstall it this morning, I do not see what it locks into. There is a hole in the carpet, and underneath that, like a valley in the metal below, but no hole in the metal...

12 volt outlet and cigarette lighter removal

Ok so I did it, by removing the nut on the back, and then as suggested, using a screwdriver to push in on the black thingy in one of the holes. The inner mechanism slid out, and then yes, you can then push in the black tabs on the back, removing the 12 volt things and cigarette lighter. I did...

12 volt outlet and cigarette lighter removal

So I finally received my new dash bezel. Got the old clock, air vents, etc. off but I don't see how to remove the old 12 volt outlets and cigarette lighter. Has anyone done this before or is there a write up? I searched on here and also google/youtube but can't find anything. The little black...

Part 55412-35130 vs. 55412-35200 dash bezel

Thank you Brillo. Maybe we should conduct a poll - how many T4R owners have had to deal with the cracked bezel issue? Mine lasted 21 years. I had taken it off maybe a half a dozen times over the years to replace the tiny bulbs behind the climate control and never had an issue until now.

Part 55412-35130 vs. 55412-35200 dash bezel

That's true. I noticed the rear window button panel that has the defroster and etc power button just snaps in. I know this because mine fell out after I cracked the dash. My hazard button is just hanging, and I can see the back of the clock. Hopefully these are relatively easy to take out and...

Part 55412-35130 vs. 55412-35200 dash bezel

Thank you Patrick Thank you Patrick. I found a new 35130 for less money than what people are asking for used ones on eBay. So might as well get a new one instead of a 20 year old used one. Although many of the used ones come with parts such as the rear window switch panel, hazard lights...

Part 55412-35130 vs. 55412-35200 dash bezel

I previously had posted about my cracked center dash bezel. In searching online it appears that there are 2 different parts numbers for the 99-02 T4R dash bezels. The 35130 sells for around $150. The 35200 for over $300. My T4R is a limited. I spoke to the parts department at a Toyota dealer...
