Part 55412-35130 vs. 55412-35200 dash bezel

I previously had posted about my cracked center dash bezel. In searching online it appears that there are 2 different parts numbers for the 99-02 T4R dash bezels.
The 35130 sells for around $150. The 35200 for over $300.
My T4R is a limited.
I spoke to the parts department at a Toyota dealer yesterday. I gave him my VIN. He originally said the part would be the 35130 (black). Then he said no, you need the 35200.
I asked if the 35130 would fit, although obviously not match up with the wood-grain finish on the rest of my trim pieces.
After looking further he said, the vents are a little different. And that the 35130 is made for the SR5 and the 35200 is made for the Limited.
I have looked at interior pictures of the SR5 and honestly can't see a difference.
Does anyone know if the center dash vents or other parts are different between an SR5 and Limited? Would the SR5 model bezel line up with the holes for a Limited? We just spent close to $200 for the new stereo and didn't - obviously - plan on having to budget for a new bezel so if we can get away with the SR5 bezel it'd be better for us. Thank you in advance for any help on this.

The only difference is the trim panel color. All 99-02 dash bezels are interchangeable.

Although many of the used ones come with parts such as the rear window switch panel, hazard lights button, etc., I can just pull those parts from my existing cracked bezel.

Prices for this part are just absurd. Prices for the 96-98 4Runners are a lot less.

You’re welcome. 96-98 dash trim and center consoles are a lot less desirable due to no cup holders by the parking brake. A lot of folks with 96-98 swap in a 99-02 dash trim and center console in order to get the cup holders. The good news is you won’t have to worry about breaking any of the retaining clips on your old dash bezel when you take the switches and vents out.

That's true. I noticed the rear window button panel that has the defroster and etc power button just snaps in. I know this because mine fell out after I cracked the dash. My hazard button is just hanging, and I can see the back of the clock. Hopefully these are relatively easy to take out and install in the new one. Plus the cigarette lighter and the 2 power things below the ash tray. I just pray I don't break the new one trying to put them all in.

For some reason, the black plastic seems to be much more resilient than the wood grain plastic. It seems to have a little more flexibility to it, so I'm sure you'll be much better off with the new one. It must be a different formulation of plastic that offers more durability in the long run.

When my wood grain bezel broke, I was disappointed, but replacing it with a black one gives me more confidence when I have to remove/replace it.

The best way I've found to remove the dash bezel is to tilt the air vents all the way down, grab below each vent, and give it a sharp pull.

I think the black is a different type of plastic then the woodgrain. Glad to see the OP is getting a new dash bezel..

Maybe we should conduct a poll - how many T4R owners have had to deal with the cracked bezel issue? Mine lasted 21 years. I had taken it off maybe a half a dozen times over the years to replace the tiny bulbs behind the climate control and never had an issue until now.
