    Driving Cycle Hell :ybrick:

Hi folks, I am stuck in driving cycle hell, and I'm hoping you can help. First off, I made the stupid decision of buying a 99 3rd gen 4runner w/ 180k miles without getting it checked out by a mechanic. 4runners are bulletproof, I thought. What could go wrong? A lot, apparently, if the owner...

    Popping/Knocking from Front End

Did OP figure this out? I am in the midst of tearing apart my suspension and hoping the LCA's are loose and it's that easy. Thanks!

    Rear bumper & suspension question

This is the perfect amount of lift for me (seen in picture)! What coils did you go with?

    Rear bumper & suspension question

nice thank you - will def call. Would rather talk to someone and try to get it right than risk having to buy multiple sets. And good to know re: the jerry cans. (And yes..I forgot the jack!)

    Rear bumper & suspension question

Nice that’s good info - thanks. While I try to do most of this myself, welding is out of my wheelhouse. But will pass this to the guy I hire. Could you post a pic? Could make it easier for the guy...

    Rear bumper & suspension question

Super helpful...thank you! I'm going with the low profile coastal off-road bumper w/ dual swing aways. All in all looks like 203 LBS + two jerry cans (25 lbs full?) so maybe 228 LBS. Not much in the roof and probably 50 LBS worth of tools in the back. Not sure which coils...what do you think?

    Rear bumper & suspension question

Hi folks....I've dug and can't quite find the answer I need. Wondered if y'all could help... I've got a 16 4runner w/ 2" fox 2.0's front and back. I am adding a coastal off-road rear steel bumper soon and from what I can tell, I'll need to replace the rear coils. My question is: do I also need...

Surf racks for the SSO roof rack?

Hi y'all! I am trying to figure out what kind of adapters I'd need to get some roof racks on the SSO roof rack. I know I'll need these adapters to start: RotoPax Mounting Plate / Universal Mounting Plate – Southern Style OffRoad, but can't for the life of me figure out what kind of adapters...

Help me map out this trip!

Hey y’all, I’m moving from CA to DC (ugh) and driving my 5th gen 4Runner with 2.5” lift, 33” KO2’s and JBA UCA’s. We want to do some off-roading on the way. Where can we stop that isn’t going to be too far out of the way?

    Too much rake. Now what?

Update: I raised the coils (what a *****) about 8 grooves and got the lift I wanted while experiencing nearly no difference in ride quality. Not sure if I just raised it less than others or if my coils didn’t come raised (unlikely) but it is totally fine. Ride looks sick, too. Also, just got...

    Too much rake. Now what?

I've got about 4" of grooves so I could technically move the c clip up. That said, the 4x4 shop said they definitely come pre-loaded at 2". Seems odd they'd give you the option to move up if you shouldn't. Thoughts?

    Too much rake. Now what?

Update: They did sell the rear 4th gen shocks, but apparently those are the same as 5th gen. The coilovers are correct for 5th gen. I confirmed w/ the local 4x4 shop that fox does come pre-sprung. So either mine just didn't (that'd be weird) or...? What risk to I run of loading these up just a...

    Too much rake. Now what?

Dude..so helpful. Thank you. Posts like this make me wanna be more helpful on this forum :thanks:. So this is to say that I will probably lose height considering this car weighs more?
