Under the passenger side dash, there's a motor that moves an arm to adjust the temp up or downward. Well, something with mine broke & I don't have the $ to replace it right now-so I have to manually change it by moving the VERY STIFF arm to the left or right. This is so tight, I'm scared of...

Well, it was attached-but I've managed to "fix" that in the process of trying to get the white piece to move. I can't get that cable or the white plastic piece to budge for the life of me.

I'm pretty sure I have this exact problem in a 2k4R. When I turn the temp knob to where the heat kicks in, I hear a "clicking" sound under the passenger side of the dash. Is the fix to simple put the eyelet on the right side of the photo onto the white post that is directly below it? Thanks!

So my heater has pretty much stopped working & whenever I turn up the temp knob to where the heat should kick in, there is a clcking sound under the right side of the dash that resembles a turn signal. Ding on. Thoughts?

Can anyone tell me where to find this. I suspect that mine needs to be cleaned (Getting a lean on bank 1 error and have an oiled air filter). Also, is this one of the things that are cleaned in a standard tune up? Thanks!

Yeah, you can tell that it's definitely engaged. Also, if I go into 4 low, I'm stuck in 4 low until the switch is manually crossed. It will go from 2 into 4 just fine, but not out of 4wd.

I have a 2000 4Runner Ltd that now does not want to come out of 4wd. A mechanic has looked at it, and the switches are fine(will disengage if manually crossed). He has also ruled out the sensors. I'm stuck in 4 high and the dash indicator light just flashes constantly. Any ideas? Thanks
