Thanks Rip, that's kind of what I had thought from reading the forums and talking to my mechanic, but it's good to hear it from a 4R "expert". I've enjoyed reading your build page, it's definitely got me excited about my new 4R. I'm on my way to pick up the 01 as we speak!

Sound advice. That's definitely the plan, I was thinking more long term would you rather be modding an 01 with 130K miles or a 99 with the rear diff but 203K miles? I assume the former, but this is all still pretty new to me.

I'm in Richmond, Virginia. The first one does look well taken care of, although I'm mildly concerned about the CEL (which also disables TRAC), although I don't want to have to worry about much maintenance and I think at only 128K miles would afford me the liberty to do more mods?

So I've narrowed it down to two 4R's. In the left corner is a 2001 with 128K miles, SR5 with leather and upgraded sound system but is tripping the code for the MAF and CatCon. My mechanic says maybe replace the O2 sensor or MAF but that the CatCon is fine. Will need new tires soon. Price: $7200...
