Hey guys, I have an '04 4Runner w/ OEM Nav system. I want to update it to the latest or close to latest Nav DVD disc. What's the latest version on that now? Does anyone have a burnt copy of it or something recent? Help!!! Please PM if we need to take this offline. :D Thanks!

My local Toyota dealer refuses to acknowledge that this clunking is anything but "normal". Has anyone with a 4Runner successfully gotten this problem fixed?

I have an '04 LTD w/ Nav and I can't input new destinations while moving. I can change some of the POIs and some other stuff like rerouting. I think you'll find that yours behaves the same way.

What bothers me even more is that the Lexus equivalent is getting all their problems like the drive-train clunking and the drone noise resolved via TSB's. What do we Toyota owners get? Diddly squat!

I've got the exact problem you're describing down to a T. Have been ignoring it so far. I'm afraid that if they disassemble the dash to fix this rattle, other stuff will creak/clunk/rattle. Like others, I'm very disappointed in the '04 4Runner LTD build quality.

What would happen if you just use 1 type of grease on all the joints? Still better than no grease in them right?

Update: Radio suddenly started working again later in the day while on the way to the dealership. Dealership couldn't find anything wrong with radio....

Just to post a follow up... I did 4 shots of grease into the slip joints zerks and for about 200 miles it was fine. Then the clunking came back. I also noticed that there are numerous zerks fitting along the driveshaft, but have not had a chance to lube them all. I'm hoping that lubing them...

My radio/CD stopped working too this morning. It was playing normally, then nothing. I have a 04 LTD w/ Nav. I'm not sure if I can do the diagnostic procedures. Prob going to take it in to dealership. T4RLTD03, did you find the cause of your radio failure? Thanks! theman1971

Re: Drive shaft noise or U joint noise My clunking occurs same as rorad. As soon as I take my foot off the brake, but not yet on the gas. Not sure how that could be related to downshifting. You guys got any suggestion on type of grease or grease gun I need to get? Theman1971
