What are the main differences in the "complete redesign" for 2010? Other than a boxier shell and the agnrier look (probably from the lack of V8 option), what are the improvements over 2009?

Why did Toyota remove the LED brake light option and add an outside AM/FM antenna? It looks a lot worse without the LED brake lights and with the ugly antenna.

Definitely not going to let Toyota win on this one. Either a 2009 V8 or a 2009 Lexus GX470. Or better yet, wait and not spending any money on Toyota until they offer the 5.7L V8 with the new 6-spd auto in 2011. I think Toyota just lost 50% of the 4runner sales in 2010 by not offerring a V8...

choice is clear, buy the V8 while you can, no V8 in 2010.

Let's face it, if $ was not an issue, everyone would choose a V8. Why would anyone buy a V6? it's because 1) you cannot afford a V8 and 2) you cannot afford to buy gas to drive a V8. Is there any other reason? Oh! Yes, you are a tree hugger. Then why aren't you walking instead?

V8 is not just for towing. It's also the smoothness and lower rpm noise during daily driving and the confidence to blow away mediocre V6 SUVs like the Honda Pilot, The Acura MDX and Lexus RX350 in straight line jack rabbit starts. Now that's more fun than towing and you can do that every day.

How is 9.8 seconds 0-60 an "improvement" when the pre-2010 V8 4runners were doing 7.8 seconds 0-60?

no choice, I am hanging on to my 4runner with 4.7L V8 and then upgrading to either a Tundra or Sequoia with 5.7L V8. There is barely adquate power on the 4.7L V8 to move the 4runner as is. 5.7L would have been nice to have. Oh well!

4Runner fits nicely in most std size garages, Tundra is too long. Too bad, Toyota is doing potential 4runner buyers a dis-service by not offerring the V8 options. Must be because the green tree hugging generation have gotten into Toyota management. We must vote with our purchasing powers to...

Toyota made a great mistake not putting the 5.7L V8 in the new 5th generation. Now my only option is to buy a Sequoia to enjoy the latest advancement in V8 and 6-speed AUTO. No tree huggers!!!:bash:

I completely disagree with this thread. V8 is what made the 4runner great and outstanding among mediocre SUVs. They should have put the new 5.7L V8 now I will no longer be buying the 4runner as it's just "ANOTHER" SUV. :roadkill:

the manual only said "this double switch operation to unlock all the side dorrs and back door can be changed to a single switch operation. For details, contact your Toyota dealer. Please state facts, not fiction.

My 2006 4ruuner with the 4.7 liter V8 seems to labor whenever the outside temperature is hot (like when I was in the desert or Las Vegas). You can feel the extra load/hesitation when the engine cooling fan is running at full tilt. Seems like a heat flow problem to me, does anyone experience...
