4.7 liter V8 loosing power due to poor heat dissipation?

My 2006 4ruuner with the 4.7 liter V8 seems to labor whenever the outside temperature is hot (like when I was in the desert or Las Vegas). You can feel the extra load/hesitation when the engine cooling fan is running at full tilt.

Seems like a heat flow problem to me, does anyone experience anything similar?

Doesn't seem to be a reliability or operational problem, but does seem to lose some power.

Any engine will suffer from extreme heat due to heat soak. BTW, I hope you know you posted in the 3rd GEN section?

If its just the fan kicking in then its normal. You figure to spin that fan you are running an extra belt off the motor, which is using power. You probably never noticed becasue in colder weather the fan will rarely kick on with full power, which means the fan clutch is working properly. If you don't like the draw you could upgrade to an electric fan and never feel that loss of power again.
