I have an 87 4runner that idles fine when started (around 800 rpm) but when the engine gets good and hot the idle sticks at around 1400 rpm. any ideas whats causing this?? Thanks in advance ticotx in costa rica..

Hello I'm looking into changing the factory air intake on my 87 4rnner. Im more interested improving fuel economy and maybe a little extra horsepower. Any suggestions? I just bought it 2 months ago and had a complete tune up done then and had it pass the very rigorous vehicle inspection where I live outside the US. It was running fine and then just started doing it all by itself, not always but seems to be getting gradually worse.

The idle has been good around 1000 and now all of a sudden sometimes it sticks at around 14-1500 doesnt matter if the clutch is in or out. It doesnt do it all the time but seems to be getting worse. Is the clutch going out?? any other ideas?

Chrome pair? Has anyone bought the chrome pair on ebay for like $25? I need a set too but Im worried about the quality, mine are ok just really faded and one is aftermarket, doesnt match.
