    Replacement OEM Serpentine Belt fraying?!

Most belts don't have the fabric backing. That's just an OEM spec thing with Toyota.

    Replacement OEM Serpentine Belt fraying?!

It's a bit weird for sure. He said most people would never get so lucky to have the belt stop at exactly the right point where it's visible that stitching is wearing out. Apparently, Toyota OEM spec requires that fabric layer. They make the same belt for the aftermarket without it.

    Replacement OEM Serpentine Belt fraying?!

I contacted Bando for a definitive answer. They’re the ones producing these made in the USA OEM belts for Toyota. Here’s the engineer’s response: “That fraying will eventually wear off. The fabric is only stitched to hold it in place during the building of the belt. The rubber impregnated...

    Replacement OEM Serpentine Belt fraying?!

Agreed. My OEM belt didn't have any stitching like this. It was part #99367-H2150 which has now been replaced by Toyota with 90916-A2015. The belt pictured with the stitching is the OEM Toyota 90916-A2015. I ordered a replacement to put on and I'll warranty this one with Toyota. For now, I'm...

    Replacement OEM Serpentine Belt fraying?!

I replaced my 2014 Serpentine Belt 2,000 miles ago. The original belt was still going strong after 196k, but it was time to replace for peace of mind. All the components looked fine when I replaced it with the exception of the upper idler which was replaced using an OEM replacement. Today, I...

Is this normal? Idler Pulley Movement

Did you ever end up replacing this pulley? I just noticed my 2014 has the same wobble and I was about to replace it. Everything spins fine and doesn't make any unwanted noise, so perhaps the slight wiggle is normal. I have 193k.

KDSS sway bar end link bushing updated with flanges?

Just got my replacement front KDSS sway bar end link bushings. Toyota Part # 48849-60041. I noticed the new bushings have flanges on each side. The original bushings on my 2014 do not have these flanges. I doubt it makes a difference either way, but I was curious if anyone else noticed this and...

    KDSS Front Bushing Part#

All the better for the next person in need who finds this thread. #5 is the same one I need to replace. I read a few other threads on here about doing the swap. Nothing definitive on best approach. Looks like you basically just move forward as if you're installing a lift in terms of how you...

    KDSS Front Bushing Part#

    Perfect. Glad I asked. Thanks!

    KDSS Front Bushing Part#

For those of you who have replaced your KDSS swaybar bushings up front, can you confirm if its Part# 4881535140? I'm not finding anything on the various Toyota parts dealer sites that specifies KDSS bushing. Maybe the same bushing is used for the standard, non-KDSS sway bar? Thanks in advance.

2014 Trail - Odd Vibration Troubleshooting

I had Toyota do an ATF fluid exchange a few days ago. I also got the tires re-balanced again. Problem didn't go away. Today I got the truck on the alignment rack and realized it was out of spec and super uneven between sides even though it was driving straight. Got it all dialed back in now. We...

2014 Trail - Odd Vibration Troubleshooting

I'm going to continue looking into the driveline. I can get it to happen when I'm manually shifting gears (without a shift), so I don't think it's the gear hunting that is common on the 4runner. i.e. I can have it set in 3rd or 4th gear as I accelerate to 40mph and replicate the brief vibration...

2014 Trail - Odd Vibration Troubleshooting

Yes, lifted. Details in the original post. CV angles are good. I installed the diff drop kit from Toytec when first installed several years ago. That helps manage the angles just a bit. I'm not sure if it was you or someone else who posted about the torque convertor in another thread, but I...

2014 Trail - Odd Vibration Troubleshooting

I'm currently chasing an annoying vibration that happens under light acceleration right at 40mph. At one point I felt it around 30mph, but not since I have really started to trouble shoot it. 40mph-ish seems to be the sweet spot. If I let off the gas when the vibration begins, it immediately...

    Yet another KDSS lean thread...

Yes you are correct about how KDSS is set up. Toyota or Lexus has a good video on Youtube showing the system with 3D graphics. Give it a look... My trucks lean has a very bizarre story associated with it. I'll share so others can chime in with their hypothetical theories as to why this might...
