I am having the same issue, 1989 v-6. Had the starter rebuilt and still has random starting issues. I hear the classic "click" noise and it always starts right up with a jump....or waiting for some time. Is this a solenoid issue?

Looking at the picture, the only problem I would forsee would be the angle the bumper makes after the vertical guard intersection....Does the one that you got have this angle back?

I have an '89 T4R and wondering if anyone can tell by looking if the smittybilt bumper in the foreground would fit my rig? I looked on their website and couldn't find bumpers for toyota's. The guy told me that it was for in 2nd gen truck. Thanks Guys....

thanks for the investigative insights... Did Toyota have a recall on the head gaskets for this model year 4runner? I can't imagine toyota to be inclined to replace parts on a truck over 20years old???? I'll post after I clean the thing up and see where she's drippin'
