    Digital Climate Control Repair Recommendation

Mine was repaired (twice) by David Ruberg : Speedometer Repair Guy Originally back in 2014. He had good feedback on sites like this one. It was repaired successfully, and returned quickly Lasted almost 10-years, but failed again. The repair had a "Lifetime" warranty, so I reached out. He...

    Dropped Washer in Block

Even knowing you succeeded, when I saw the washer push 1/2" deeper, my gut reaction was "@#$%"!. Glad it worked!

MPG ethanol gas vs pure gasoline

I'm shocked by your numbers. Regarding my 2001: - I have many many very long trips on my T4R - I get about 19 mpg highway, under most conditions. I have -never- seen anywhere close to 27 mpg, or even 21 mpg. - I get about 17 mpg around town, under most conditions. - I haven't seen much...

Why don't replacement pads fit my 99's calipers?

I was going to echo Charlie. Have you owned your 4Runner since new? If not, there is a good possibility a previous owner installed a Tundra brake upgrade (TBU). It is a popular modification of which there are 2 flavors.

Replacing cable for heater control valve

It is one cable that goes from the actuator (in the passenger footwell), behind the console to the driver footwell, where it routes up to the top of the firewall and into the engine bay, to the HCV.

Circled in green in the picture above. It's only partially visible, behind the wire bundle.

    Tundra brake upgrade

I first did the S13WE (199) TBU 15 years ago. Then did the 13WL (231) TBU 3 years ago. (BTW, stick with the 199) I am still running the original master cylinder. No issues, AFAIK.

    Zero point calibration questuon

Were those manual pages sufficient? Did the procedure work? Was it consistent with pre-2000 procedure? Just wondering how it worked out for you. And, feedback for the next person in the same spot.

    Zero point calibration questuon

OK, I think maybe I got something for you. First, I asked ChatGPT :) Well, it regurgitated what you already found, except it mixed up where the OBD port was on the various model years. So, I asked it to clarify. It was very impressed with, and appreciative of, my correction :) Then it...

    Steering rack tighten/adjust?

Thanks for the suggestions. Agreed, could probably be inner tie rod end. I'll pull the boot back and check it.

    Steering rack tighten/adjust?

I've been chasing down a "new" clunk in my steering. The air-quotes are because I had previously done the collapsible column tack welds. Turns out, my tack welds were too small, and broke. So my "new" clunk was just a return of the old clunk... I hope. Anyway, in the process, I found that my...
