I also installed an 06 scion hu in an 05 4runner. I think the highs are better, but for me, the biggest difference is in the lows. If i need some heavy bass, i can certainly get it with this hu.

I also have the USA-Spec pa11. I have had no problems at all with it, the only feature that it lacks, which would be nice, is the ability to display text on the head unit. However, I completely recommend it.

It does actually change the texture of the plastic somewhat, but you have to look closely to see it - much closer than to see "scion" were it still there.

removing "scion" with some nail polish remover and a q-tip, the scion name comes off. At first it takes a bit of rubbing, but it comes off.

yep, the sound is definitely coming from under the left rear seat, so it is the gas tank. The tank is just under completely full. I wonder if it will still make the noise after the tank depletes a little.

I just happened to have an mp3 disc in at the time of the picture. The headunit will not display text with the Usa-spec pa11. You need an adapter to connect a sub (search "scion sub" on ebay, they are about $60) This ipod adapter won't interfere with the sub adapter.

It was actually just the flash in the picture. However, since then I used some of my sister's nail polish remover and was able to get rid of "scion." I had to scrub pretty hard and if you look closely you can tell the surface was tampered with, but it looks better than having the word "scion"...

search "scion sub" on ebay. You will get a few different adapters which will allow you to connect an amp/sub trough RCA inputs. They are about $60-70 shipped including wiring for the amp or about $40 without the wiring

The ipod adapter works with the standard 06 scion head unit. It will also work with many other head units. It just acts as an external cd changer would.
