I tried this but it only gave me the option of choosing which car for the SSP equilizer (xb tc etc). It does give some different sound stage options though...kind of cool.
So the question is still out there...how do we change the text on the '06 Scion decks?

I'm going off memory here, but I think it goes like this:
1. Start with the ignition off.
2. While holding down the mute button, turn the ignition to the acc. position. The line under the "Scion" text should start flashing.
3. Now, hold down radio preset number 6 and turn off the ignition.
4. At this point, the banner should start flashing and you can start programming.
Pressing numbers 3 and 4 goes forward and back through the letters/numbers/symbols. Pressing numbers 5 and 6 go forward and back to the next letter/number/symbol position. Make sense?
If this doesn't work let me know. I have the instruction booklet at home and can scan and post it.
Oh yeah, you only have 60 seconds to program, then the HU automatically shuts down. If this happens, you can run through the process again, and pickup where you left off. Good luck!

Can you scan the instructions? That doesnt seem to work, when i hold the MUTE button and turn it on, the line flashes, and i hold down the 6 key and turn it off, but i cant change any of the text with the 3 or 4 button. It did say on the screen "WHAT MOVES YOU". I tried a few difrent buttons, but nothing works, after about 3 seconds, it shuts off.

I also need the Instructions to change the welcome screen for the 06 single disk unit. Just installed it tonight after pulling out the Scion T1804 HU I had. I tried to change it via the instructions for the older Scion unit but no luck. Any help would be great.
SOLD - P.S. I will be selling the T1804 unit + the factory scion radio manual. PM me if interested or you want more details. $60 Shipped, USPS Prioirty Mail. That is what I have in it. Works great no problems. I never drilled the second hole for the second antenna jack. - SOLD

Yea last week when i installed my amp i lost my welcome screen and looked for a while on how to get it back to say toyota instead of scion. i finally found it on scionlife and revised it a little to post here so it would be easier from now on, and i never got around to it. But now weve got it here.

91 Runner w/Scion HU
Installed a single-disc scion h/u (sourced from ebay) in my 91 runner. Electrically, it was a peach (even did the diversity antenna mod). A little plastic work, and tweaks to the original radio brackets and it looks factory.
Problem is: front speakers are very weak. Anyone else have this problem? When fader is full forward, I get good volume. But any other position, and you barely hear the speakers. The factory unit would blast up front
CD player was failing on the factory unit so it needed replacement.

is the stock 2006 4runner radio as bad as the previous years? is the upgrade as noticeable for this year as well? Can the scion head unit be used and retain the functionality of the aux miniport in the 06 4runner?
