I'm at my wits end here. I'm replacing my steering rack and I cannot get the lower steering shaft off to save my life. The part just below the u-joint is absolutely frozen to the shaft. I've tried alternating between penetrating oil, heat and air hammer for about 24 hours now to no avail...

Just for reference for anyone who runs across this thread in the future, the Advance part number referenced above is indeed the a2581. Has the part number on the box.

Yes their website clearly shows it as an exact fit. I always prefer to double check things though. I've had a few occasions where an auto parts store incorrectly labeled things as direct fit. In any event, I appreciate the response. I will cross reference that part number to be safe. Thanks!

I'm doing the timing belt on my 04 4.7l SR5. I've got the radiator out and discovered a couple of small seepage spots. It probably has a bit of life left, but I'd prefer to replace it now rather than tear it all out again in a few months when there is a real problem. I'm looking for the Koyo...

I hear ya. I have a 92 F350 that started leaking like a faucet after switching to synthetic. This particular truck has been running mobil 1 full synthetic for at least the last 35k miles according to the previous owner and I've seen zero evidence of leaks, so I'm a bit less worried about it...

Yeah we were looking for a bit of a unicorn. Wanted an 04 with the 4.7, 4wd, and the third row. Felt pretty lucky to find this within a few hours drive. Ideally we wanted to be closer to 100k miles, but this is super clean for the age and miles.

Just bought this on Friday in Virginia. Rust free save for a few spots of minimal surface rust on the ladder frame which I'll take care of with a wire wheel and a little paint. Body is in great shape save for a couple of very small dings and a few scratches. Not looking to do anything crazy...

Just got this SR5 in Virginia this weekend. 156k miles. In great shape. Ready to do some baselining and make it our daily driver.

And probably upgrade the brakes.

I would buy the sr5 and mod it to your specs...but I like doing the work myself, so that appeals to me.
