I'm at my wits end here. I'm replacing my steering rack and I cannot get the lower steering shaft off to save my life. The part just below the u-joint is absolutely frozen to the shaft. I've tried alternating between penetrating oil, heat and air hammer for about 24 hours now to no avail.
I've watched the Eric the car guy video on the subject and I've also read a few posts in the forum.
I know I'm not the only one who's had difficulty with this. Anyone have any creative ideas not already discussed? Honestly, I don't have tons of experience with parts being rusted together to this degree, and I'm not really sure where to go from here other than just continuing to beat on this thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
