No Good Deeds
The local mechanic wanted $900 to replace the driver side LCA so I've collected all the parts to do both sides of the Yota (less than $400) upper and lower control arms, ball joints, sway bar link and inner and outer tie rods. I was watching a video on removing the LCAs and it...
Words of wisdom would be appreciated
I have decided to jump in and replace the LCA, inner and outer tie rod ends, upper and lower ball joints and the sway bar ends on both sides. I'm going to order the parts from either Parts Geeks or Detroit Axel because they are 1/3 of the price of the...
I loaned my 2000 4runner to my daughter in law and she wrecked it when she spun out during a snow storm and hit the center concrete divider on the highway. She is ok but the yota look a beating. The drivers front tire is toed in drastically while the passenger side is straight. I've looked under...
I'm not experienced at wiring. How do I trace/isolate the problem? Could it be the switch for the back up lights? It Blows the fuse every time I put it in reverse.
2000 SR5 manual transmision - The fuse for the dash (speedo, radio, AC, etc.) blows every time I put my Yota in reverse. I had the switch for the back up lights replaced a while back but the shop that did it has since closed.
Any ideas?
I had this happen with my 04 Ram/Cummins. The shop that installed the new injectors couldn't isolate the loud injector so they replaced them all under warranty. It's quiet and runs like a top now.
2000 4R 204k miles. I pulled away from a stop light and got a loud rattle when accelerating. My first thought was a u joint so I limped home. In the drive way I got the same noise while not in gear so not a u joint. A buddy was looking under the hood when I gave it gas and it back fired from the...
There isn't really anything that causes it. It happens at random times, sometimes when cornering, another time when going over bumps, then occasionally when going straight.
I'll check the ball joints though.
My 2000 4runner has developed a a clunk or pop after a recent 4 wheeling trip.
I've looked at everything on the suspension but can't find the source. I snugged up the front anti-sway bar thinking that was the problem but it's not.
It can be felt in the floor and it only happens occasionally...
