We own both. If I had to pick one, it would be the GX. Not a big fan of the barn door and would definitely miss the rear roll down window though. Otherwise, they are both extremely capable and reliable vehicles. GX just edges the 4runner in almost all departments for me.

We run 255/75 Cooper AT3 4S' on our ORP. IMHO, this is the perfect all around size for the 4runner. A little extra height with no drawbacks on performance or weight.

Lots of threads and comments on steering wheel wobble primarily from 55-65MPH. The only consistent solution seems to be perfectly balanced wheels/tires. Sometimes this takes multiple visits to multiple shops in order to find someone with the ability/desire to really dial it in.

There's a good chance you can cancel that extended warranty. Most will pro rate refund the cost (may have a small cancelation fee). Read the fine print, call the number listed and be firm.

I've heard of expensive KDSS repairs, but that is ridiculous. My guess is that dealership doesn't have the equipment to perform the work. If it completely fails, it would be a great time to install an aftermarket setup.
