I don't see how this one would work, it looks like it would brace the bottom of the LBJ and just press the top into itself instead of bracing the LCA and pushing the LBJ out. What am I missing? I used a cheap pitman arm puller from Autozone. I was a little too big but it got the job done.

I was quoted $850 yesterday for the timing belt, water pump, pulleys/tensioners, fluids, and labor. Going to order the parts and do it myself to save $500. You should also get a new radiator and add a trans cooler.

Fix it, with all the parts you should be able to do it in a day. Source the parts from junk yards to save money. Hell, if you can make an insurance claim you may even be able to upgrade the front bumper with the money.

I'm trying to find the part number on the 4 threaded dowels that the intake plenum and plenum gaskets slide over. The number I have is 17159 but nothing comes up when I search it on various Toyota parts sites. The parts guy at a local dealer assured me he knew what I was talking about then...

I found a washer in the coolant channel of the driver side head. When I tried to remove it with a hook tool it fell off and dropped deeper :faint:. How serious of a problem am I looking at? Think it could of made it to the thermostat? I need to do a wp/tb change so I'd much rather get it there...

Haha yes the valve cover. I knew head didn't sound right but "valve cover" wasn't coming to mind. Thanks for the input, I had assumed the PO had been in there because of how loose they were but it seems a lot of people are saying it's common with that many miles. I've had it for about 2 years...
