If memory serves me correctly, it should be the first bolt on the driver's side from the rear. (Haven't had mine off in a while)!

I had the same problem with my '87 and replaced the seat release cable (30 something bucks). That and a little grease in the seat track, and it worked like new!

Hey 1986 - my '87 came with the gauges already installed, but I believe that the dash is the same. Just screw the L-brackets on the inclometer into the dash, and run the wiring. If you can find the original wiring diagram, it will probably even show you the factory location to run it to. Best...
