The Dark Knight Rises...can't wait!

Am i the only one who can't wait for this movie to come to DVD/Blu-ray?!!

Here is a preview of what will be available: 'Dark Knight Rises' Blu-Ray Set Comes with Batman Parts Plopped on Top | I Watch Stuff

I did not see it in theaters...waiting for it to come to my home theater! And can't wait for it to come to my iPhone with digital copy!

Very good movie but definetly darker and slower than the Avengers but still one to own on Blu-ray.

I actually saw Avengers in the movie theater...good movie...but not as powerful pounding (not sure how to describe it) on your senses as the Batman series by Nolan. Avengers are kinda like a kid's wet dream to have all the heroes together to fight the bad guy...well, at least, it was MY wetdream! (I did order The Avengers from Amazon for $20...one with 3D, BR, and digital copy.)

if you missed seeing it in the IMAX you really lost out.

The film was shot specifically for the IMAX using IMAX cameras for many scenes. It did not feature 3D -great in my opinion- because Christopher Nolan does not prefer 3D.

Seeing it in its true IMAX format was simply amazing.

There are a lot of movies that are displayed in IMAX theaters but this particular movie was specifically shot for the IMAX format with IMAX film.

Almost all other movies (ie Avengers) that are displayed in the I-MAX theaters are not actually shot with IMAX cameras, they are simply filmed with standard (lower) resolution cameras then cropped & converted to 3D.

You'd have to have seen it to believe it. The difference is huge. I saw TRON II in an IMAX and it sucked big time. But I have seen 3 Christopher Nolan films in IMAX and all were amazing because he uses actual IMAX cameras to film.

Also note there are a limited number of "TRUE" original sized (120+ ft) IMAX cinemas in the United States. Most of what people now recognize as IMAX are simply new/old smaller theaters with new digital cameras. The original 4:3 ratio giant theaters are located mainly near major metropolitan areas. Example: Metradome in San Francisco, Spectrum in Irvine.

I loved it, I'll buy it on BluRay for sure.

I passed on 3D, I really can't wait for 3D to die.

I'm also highly entertained by the fact that so many movies were hastily converted to 3D in order to cash in on the craze that after people "rebelled" movies are now advertised as "available in 3D and REAL-D".

3D is absolutely the most ridiculous fad in home entertainment and it cannot die soon enough.

I'm a huge fan of this new Batman series as well--I love the realistic look and overall tone they took with it. Thai, I think the lack of punch you described with the Avengers (by comparison to Batman) was probably because there's no getting around the idea that it's a fantasy (demi-gods, transforming humans, super powers, etc.), while Batman is merely a man with expensive "toys" and intense physical training, a genuine possibility. By keeping the tone dark, it's easier to see in a realistic light--things go wrong, people get the wrong impression of the hero, he has lasting effects of his actions, both physical and emotional. As for the 3D stuff, I'm with those that can live without it--the idea of a movie is to get lost in that world for a brief time, and how can that happen if you're constantly reminded by a cheap effect that "yes, it's only a movie".

I did get The Avengers...and surprisingly, the digital copy is HD-like. In the past, digital copies were like VHS quality. Very happy with The Avengers. Hopefully, Batman won't skimp with the digital copy.

I did pre-order thru Amazon Batman. Can't wait!!!
