It's a rather original and cool commercial IMHO. However, it has offended Suicide Prevention Group. Here is EDMUNDS article: (I agree with Edmunds conclusion.)

That's pretty much what I thought when I heard it on the radio...

thats what the ads for, to get attention. and they (GM) did!

As someone who sees these things on a daily basis with suicide , but will side strongly with the Suicide Prevention Group.

Yes it got attention like its supposed to for an ad , just like someone who actually jumps from a bridge and makes the news .

GM should worry about making decent vehicles . I've seen very creative advertising from other mfg's without crossing a line like that to get attention.

When did this commercial cross the line?? Why not just ban any movie/TV show out there with suicide scenes?? And there are plenty of that...yet, this group jumps all over this commercial which i find to be excellent IMHO.

what about this commercial?? Its for a vacuum cleaner called the electrolux, im pretty sure we own one from this company.

Most people/groups in this country have such thin skin and you can't do anyting without offending somebody.

Dont get me wrong I laughed my ass off at the vacuum one . Something about the robot one bothered me , kind of depends on what I'm dealing with at work at the time.

Didn't mean to be a poop but just don't think it was in good taste. If you ever had to go to some ones house and tell them their son or daughter blew their head off , or hose some persons brain off the pavement , watch a nice 18 y/o girl pour gas on herself and flick the match , cut down a teenager hanging in his parents garage. I have had to do all these things , I can handle it and did handle it. You get thick skin , probably done enough of that would make most people puke , so I don't need to hear anything about being thin skinned.

The sensitivity from the suicide prev. folks is because 99.9% of the time they are advocates because one of their children, parent , friends have done it .

Seeing it in a movie is a totally different thing than a commercial that pops up unexpectedly . You usually know and expect what your going to see at a movie and what type of movie it is , not seeing something like that in the middle of a football game.

I'm going to have to agree with Falls on this one.

I also like how they have revised it. The ending seems to flow better and keep in line with the car theme it's based on.

Falls, i have to deal with suicide attempts with my job too....

It sucks ...........
