Ever wonder what you house looks like from space?

This is a very cool site where you can actually zoom in on your house from space. The images are a little outdated, but it is cool to fin some landmarks that have been around for a while.

I use this for my work in land development. It is really cool with the aerial photograpy and the topo maps. They some times have multiple aerials from different years so you can see what has changed over the years or what a particular area or address was used for previously.

Google has a nice quality satellite map service they just purchased and released.

I looked up my address on both of the sites. That's something to be able to see your surrounding area from space. I was panning around on the site and found that I could pan right over the nuclear power plant that's about 10 miles north of my house. My sister lives right across the river from Port Tampa and I was able to pan over that location as well. As both of these locations have been strictly off limits due to Homeland Security it's a little unsettling to pan in on these locations

Try your municipal web site...

Give it a try. Our city's web site has a mapping feature that includes current aerial photos plus going back 5 years.
