00 2wd Jerks when cold in reverse or drive

Hello, I'm new to this site as I found it after my 2000 4-Runner 2wd started having it's first problem after 130,000 miles. The problem is the check engine light came on and now when parked for awhile or when first started in the morning, it jerks when put in reverse or drive. Then when driven it shifts fine and there are no problems after when you park for a short while. But if you let it sit for a couple hours it will jerk again sometimes. Then there is sometimes it will be fine and not jerk in the morning or after it sitting for awhile. It's kind of like at randem? I've checked the trans fluid and all seem fine there, i did have the trans fluid changed about 5000 miles ago, so it's new. Anybody have a clue or been down this road before? I have a appointment at the dealership on thursday, just wanted to kind of know what I might be in for. I really appreciate any help and I'm glad to have found this site. I've had nothing but good times with the 4-runner so far.

It's funny, I was about to post the exact same thing about my Limited '99. It's got just at 114k on it and the exact same thing happens with me with the cold starts and what not, but after going, runs fine. When you first start it up too, does your engine idle kinda high? Mine does that but after driving for a little while if I stop at a stop light or something, it's fine. So I'm sorry, I know this didn't answer your question, but let me know what the dealer says after you meet because it's apparent we have the same issue.
