01-02 clear tail lights

i hadn't done any research but i thought that the clear style lights were from 99-02, which in fact, they are not. i've seen plenty of 99's and recently at the yard i go to a 00 was brought in with only 164k, one owner, that has the early style tails. i guess i overlooked that detail. i know a lot of "newer" parts were introduced in 99, like front bumpers and such.

Not sure what your question is but your title is right the clear ones are on 01 and 02 runners. If this is asking for a set then add me to the list. Been wanting clear ones for quite some time now.

Correct, and be aware that if you switch them out to the newer style, you will also need to replace the wiring harness.

Yeah I've been needing to replace my aftermarket ones. COB, have you had any moisture get in them on this pair? I've got Depots on the back, and they look like $&@!

I have those LED ones.. I love the look.. "almost factory" just fresher.

They still work years later, but the ones I bought one has a slight leak.. the ebay seller refused to replace as I asked after 30 days..

Mine are Eagle Eyes brand. I don't know if they're still the same as the used to be.

I have cracked one, but no moisture has ever gotten in, even with the crack.

I think I was just unlucky.. you can see where it doesn't quite sit flush where the lens meets the frame of it.

I should have checked them earlier I guess, but they took 2 weeks to arrive and when they did I was mid engine swap, so they sat in the box for ages. :redface:

That said overall they seem pretty well made, the plastic hasn't dulled over time. I'd recommend them, and buy them again for mine.

I just went through the same predicament a couple months ago of aftermarket vs factory 01-02 for my 99. I figured you cannot beat factory quality so found a clean factory 02 pair for $50 and bought two wiring harnesses to update and was plug and play!!! Looks so much better!!!

a lot of stuff looks the same, but don't fit, work the same. this stuff is hard to find nice used, having come out 17 years ago and new it's overpriced.
