01' 4Runner SR5 - Black Beast Pt II

Well, I guess I'll start a build thread for my beast - it's been a work in progress for quite some time and it's now just starting to come around.

After writing off my 06' Tacoma in March of 2010 I decided a 3rd Gen 4Runner would fit the bill as a capable replacement. Hence the Pt II. As with any build, the mods will be on going, and I will try to keep this list updated to include the most recent additions.

What started as this:

Wow, that is one beautiful 4runner. If I couldn't wait to get my duratracs mounted before, I definitely cannot wait now!

Heck yea! I LOVE my Dura-Tracs - I've got 3 sets! (summer and winter on my Tundra and these guys on the 4Runner). Great tire IMO...

Nice build! Looks great!
Thank ya!

I've got a lot of builds to look up to on here and so I finally decided to post mine now that it moves on its own. Grill, headlights and winch wiring when I get home from work!

Nice built rig you got here but, come on now.....where's the rest of the pics?

Ha! It's still a work in progress and hasn't hit the trail yet (waiting for my sweet projector headlights to remove-reinstall front bumper and skids.

I've uploaded a few more pics!

What a great looking 4Runner. Black 4Runners look good stock but with all that you have added this looks awesome. How is that rear bumper treating you? I'm sure overall it is great, are there any little tweaks you would make if you could?

I looking forward to seeing the rest of the build, well at least the little that is left to build.

Quoted in bold.

Finally got my headlights in:

Also wired up the JDM Field Monitor:

And installed the LED Interior Kit:

Before all this, did a little adventuring (shake down - nothing crazy - realized my shocks are too soft and bottom out WAY too often. Solution? Outboard shock hoops!)

Damn, you Candian fellas sure know how to build a 4Runner. I like how you're doing it man... everything all at once right from the get go. That is one heck of a 4Runner as it sits and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do w/it in the future. :guitar3:

Those CBI rear bumpers are mean too. I have a feeling my savings account might be taking a hit within the next couple months.
