01 T4R 2WD - High pitched alarm-like sound from inside engine bay?

Hi -

Last night, I pulled in my garage and turned off the T4R. As soon as I turned it off, I heard a high-pitched, alarm-like sound coming from inside the engine bay for about 5 seconds, then it went off. Could not figure out what it was or exactly where it came from.

I tried to make it do it again, started the vehicle, let it run for a minute, then turned it off. No alarm sound.

So, any idea on what it is? I am not aware of any aftermarket alarms on the vehicle, and I have the standard Toyo keyfob with panic button the back. I am sure I did not press this, and if I had, I would have expected to hear the horn blow and lights flash.

Any ideas?

Mine will do it if I try to lock the doors and one isnt closed all the way....best ive got.

Power antenna?

What area of the car is it coming from?

It sounds like the alarm sound is coming from the area around the rear portion of the passenger side engine bay. Near the power antenna area I guess, but, I did not have the radio on when this happened.

As for the doors, only my driver door was opened at that time, I jad just opened it as I was turning the vehicle off, and was not trying to lock anything at that moment either...

Maybe you hit the lock button. Try this.

Open one door and hit the lock button on your key fob.

that was it - I did what you indicated, and it triggered that alarm. I must have hit it inadvertantly last night and not realized it.
