What is the difference between the 01-02 and all the other years?

the difference are that the lenses are clear not fluted... same goes for the headlights, parking lights, and turn signals. Dang i wonder if i should pick these up and smoke them. I was supposed to buy some from Lignum but he jsut randomly stopped replying to my PMs a while back.

There is a slight difference in the shape of them... the older ones are a bit more squared off on the edge vs the newer ones. Some ppl like that some dont. Umm there are a few on here that have them blacked out/smoked. Not too sure on the diff of them but thought it would be smarter to have a 2nd pair incase of a ticket i can just swap the stock ones on there and ticket will be dropped.

Very true about the ticket deal. I have an extra set of the 96-00 in my garage right now, so I will just stick with that now.

How do you guys smoke your taillights? Just paint them with the NightShades stuff? Do you have to paint the outside of the lens, or can you open them up and paint from the inside?

There are two ways to do this... u can either use VHT and spray them with clear coat after on the exterior or u can get tint that is specially made for tinting tail lights. The benefit of tinting the lights with the film (like window tint) is that it comes out shiny and can be taken off if u get pulled over. The negative part is that it can be pulled off easily and typically u can see where the film ends. The VHT to me is better since it makes it permanent but if u have spare set or have a friend who will let u install them and take a pic then ur set.

yes the film is awesome! I've said this in may threads so sorry if im getting annoying but get some Lamen-x that stuff rocks! i only have it on my front corner and blinker lights but IMO it looks better then the night shade stuff. here is a pic

Thanks guys. Does anyone know if you can take apart the taillights so you can tint them from the inside? Or are they sealed like the headlights in which you have to bake them in the oven to get them apart?
That film does look great on your front corners. Do you remember what shade it is? Would that film work on the taillights, because they aren't as smooth as the corner lights? There are more styling grooves in the taillights that I think would be hard to form the film around.

thanks man! Not to jack this thread but for those looking to smoke their tail lights this is a good option. the shade i have is called gun smoke. Lamen-X is very forgiving i had to re-apply it many times to get it right. Its strong too i bet it can stop a bullet!! I dont think the bulges would be too much of a pain. the stuff is amazing how it just sticks to the surface. With the proper procedure (using water and heat) you can get it to work.
The Light output is pretty good too, i just installed some LED's in corner lights but here is a pic of the stock compared to the LED with Lamen-X

I think they are somewhat sealed together... not 100% sure tho. U can make the tint work on the tail lights but it just requires more work. U have to use a heat gun to make the tint stick and stretch to form fit the lights.
