03/04 4th Gen

So after having a brief hiatus from my 3rd gen I think I am going to be buying a 4th gen. I am looking at 03/04 SE's and Limiteds and I know for sure I want the XREAS system. My question is how do I tell if the Limited has XREAS? I searched and found a response but it confused me a little, anyone have a picture of it?

I've got XREAS and I don't even really know what it is(something that has to do with the suspension?) and what's so special about it... lol I'm an idiot, I know.. You should try to get an 06+ if you can so you can get the projector headlights & LED tails.

hey brian! I forgot you had a 4th gen now...I actually like the front end on the 03-05s better but when I get one I will def get a set of sick blacked out headlights, maybe even ones with projectors?

If you look at the rear shock, there will be a hydraulic line that comes out near the top. There's also a canister on the frame rail by the B-pillar for that's used to equalize the opposing shock.

Haha yeah, I love it, miss my 02 but I like the 08 so much better!

I don't want to be a downer here but: A few folks with older XREAS are starting to see leaks. The shocks must be replaced with expensive 'Toyota only' shocks. Recently there's been a few threads where people are considering going with 4, good, non-XREAS shocks. The people who have gone from a 2/1 or 3/2 spacer lift w/XREAS to an OME or coilover lift claim 4 premium shocks work as well if not better for most of thier driving.

My point is you may do better to open up your potential pool of used T4R's and not focus so hard on the XREAS. Don't consider it a negative but don't rule out non-XREAS as you may end up taking XREAS off anyways, especially if you get bit by the mod bug

There are members here removed their Xreas to upgrade after market suspension. You can purchase from them then install it. I don't know how hard it is to install the Xreas system in the non-Xreas Runner.
